- If there are items lying around that don’t have a clearly defined home they are trip hazards.
- If there is a lot of paper that doesn’t have a clearly defined home in a fire safe filing cabinet, they could not only become a fire risk, but also increase the speed, intensity and spread of a fire should one start.
- If there are lots of boxes and piles of paper on, around and under desks then we may not be able to sit comfortably and properly at our desks which may affect our posture, eyesight and mood as we work.
- If the clutter is blocking or reducing the amount of light coming into an office, or due to the poor planning of an office clutter means we are unable to be directly under suitable lighting, then this can affect the mood and consequently productivity of staff.
