Survey Results from 2009 and what they tell us about Clutterholics
The Clutter Clearing Consultancy, based in Banbury, Oxfordshire has been asking their top tip subscribers to tell them about their clutter, challenges and habits during 2009 which reveals some interesting - and surprising - facts and figures that may help people who have decided their New Years Resolution for 2010 will be to de-clutter and get more organised.

- 41% of people with clutter decide to clear it because they feel stuck with all the clutter and that it's holding them back in their life
- only 10% of people decide to de-clutter as part of a New Years Resolution or Spring Clean
- 59.3% of people have de-cluttered before and found the clutter has come back again
- 15.4%of people have de-cluttered before and found the clutter has come back again to a worse level than it was before they started
- The majority of people (58%) have less than 25% of their home cluttered - surfaces, drawers, under beds, cupboards stuffed and disorganised as opposed to waist height clutter
- 41.6% of people say their clutter contains 'EVERYTHING!' and don't know what's in it
- 12.4% of people say their clutter contains paperwork clutter
- 26.6% of people say the word they would use to describe how they feel about their clutter is 'overwhelmed'
- 22% of people with clutter say their biggest problem is that they don't know where to start
- Most people with clutter that's out of control have had it for more than a year
- 36.7% of people give their unwanted clutter to charity
- 19.9% of people just put their unwanted clutter out for the bin men
- 23.8% of people haven't given themselves a timescale to clear their clutter in
- 50% of people can't imagine their home being clutter free
- 39.4% of people want to learn how to clear their clutter so it doesn't come back again in the future
