Mental clutter
It’s well documented that people with Physical clutter often have Mental clutter as well. This may be no surprise to you if you have Physical clutter.
Do any of the following sound familiar?
- I feel guilty for just reading a book or watching the TV because I think I should be doing some clutter clearing instead
- It’s like a nagging voice in the back of my head
- I can never find anything when I need it so I end up having to buy new, which frustrates me because I know I’ve got it somewhere, I just don’t know where
- I can’t invite people round to my place – what would they think if they saw it all?
- I go out a lot and do a lot of social things outside the house but never entertain at home
- I haven’t always been a cluttered person
- I know when it all began to appear
- I can never relax in my home
- I can’t let go of my clutter
- I need to keep everything because it’s all sentimental
- I worry about what the neighbours must think
- It’s causing arguments with family/friends
- Someone gave me that so I can’t get rid of it otherwise they might think I don’t care / don’t respect them / don’t love them
- My head is cluttered with all the ‘to do’ things I have to do.
- I’m a failure because I can’t keep on top of the clutter.
- Why can I be so organised at work but such a failure with my own clutter?
- I find it hard to switch off and/or go to sleep at night
So what does Mental clutter have to do with Physical clutter?
Simple.
29% of our top tip subscribers tell us they don’t know where to start with their clutter clearing.
By getting help to get started with the Physical clutter we can actually find a place to start and ensure it creates a ‘success’ cycle in the mental cycle which is crucial to creating the motivation and positive feeling to continue to complete the Physical clutter cycle.
If you believe in the energy of a home or room then clearing your Physical clutter will change the energy in that room. Clearing the clutter also changes the light, space, feeling of a room which in turn often has an effect on how positive we’re feeling. If we can start to deal with the Mental clutter at the same time as the Physical clutter, then our minds are freed up in terms of space and time so that we can start to consider other challenges we may face in life.
