Why get help with your clutter?

We also know that the most important aspect of getting help with your clutter is getting ongoing help, support, motivation and expert advice. That's why we help you de-clutter for 6 weeks AFTER we've been to your home for a day or more, and it's also why we offer one to one help on the telephone with our telephone coaching service.

Clutter makes us feel unhappy and uncomfortable in our homes and sometimes we need a little help to work out how to get it under control so we can feel happy and comfortable again.

There's no shame in asking for help with something if you need it, is there?  Especially if it's simply a skill that you don't yet have and someone else can teach you.

We spend our life telling family, friends, children and loved ones to ask us for help if they need it - the only trouble is that they can't always help us with our clutter challenge because it causes arguments, ill feeling, stress or worse.

Compare it to the skill of cooking.  If you couldn't cook you'd have a choice of what you could do.

You could avoid learning to cook by living off takeaways, buying ready made meals that just needed heating up, employing a cook to do the cooking for you, or you could take time to learn how to do it yourself by buying a book and work your way through it, going on a workshop or course to learn with others, getting someone in to your home to teach you the basics to build up your confidence and your foundation in knowledge so that you could then continue on your own, getting someone to come in and teach you everything on a one-to-one basis.

Sometimes it’s easier to have someone who can help you at a practical level so you can get more done in a shorter period of time, you can find another way of doing it if what you’re doing isn’t working, and because someone else who knows how to de-clutter in an efficient way can really help us stop procrastinating, help get us motivated and stay on track once we’ve got started, especially if our clutter is something that we haven’t told other people we have and need help with.

The most common reasons people give for getting help with their clutter include:
  • Feeling stuck and overwhelmed by how much clutter they have, how much energy and time it’ll take to clear it and simply wanting and needing some supportive help with it
