ask me question

How long will it take to

clear the clutter?

There is no definitive, one size fits all answer to this question when people are doing their decluttering on their own.

I'm sure you want the clutter gone as quickly as possible - I know I did when I'd reached that point. You may even have had someone in to do it for you, thinking it would save you time and effort, yet found that the clutter has returned.

Remember: If you want a long term permament solution to your clutter challenge, it's going to require YOU to get it back under control, and that's going to take time. You're going to have to be patient and kind to yourself. Your clutter didn't appear overnight, it's not going to disappear overnight (and if you've ever had a blitz you know it doesn't last).

There are 7 factors to consider.

  1. How much clutter you have to start with
  2. How many rooms you want to clear and organise
  3. How much time you commit to clearing it
  4. How willing you are to accept that you need to reduce the amount of clutter you have if you want to create more space
  5. How realistic - rather than ruthless - you are with your decision making, so that things come out of your home
  6. How well you control the accumulation of new clutter as you clear the backlog of clutter
  7. What process you are using to clear and organise your clutter

If you are using the Clutter Clearing Process, then the following acts as a guide for how long you can expect it to take to clear your clutter.

Click on whichever of the following images best illustrates the amount of clutter you have in the room/s you want to clear, and we will be able to show you how long you can expect to spend clearing it when using The Clutter Clearing Process.

Paperwork   A Little Clutter
  A Standard Amount of Clutter
  A Lot of Clutter

3 or more A4 boxes or crates of paperwork clutter   On surfaces, cupboards stuffed and disorganised, spilling onto floors   Majority of floor covered, furniture covered, narrow path through clutter, can close door to room.   Floor entirely covered, furniture covered, no path through, windows and doors blocked by clutter, unable to open or close door.

I am loving my flat, I’ve had my first dinner party in years and just love spending time relaxing (guilt free!) in the sitting room in the evening.

It is remarkable what you have helped me achieve without even coming to my home.

I'm completely clutter free after just 12 weeks!

When you've tried everything else on your own and failed, give this a try. It just works!   If you have any doubts, pick up that phone!  I was amazed at how different the living room was when Clare left. It was almost like we had just moved in, and I had just arranged things the way I wanted them.

I’ve learnt a lot from having the help in the home. I’ve learnt to take things a step at a time, prioritise things that need to be done, not to feel guilty for not getting everything done at once, not to put things to the side and the fact that this system really does work!  Thanks Clare.

I didn't think twice about spending money on 'stuff', but I did about getting Clare to come and help me.

If you're struggling with your clutter don't make the mistake I did and wait 3 years. It's the best money you'll EVER spend because you'll get so much more out of it than just a clutter free and organised home.
