Physical clutter

Physical clutter can be draining.  We know because our top tip subscribers and clients have told us.  In fact, 53% of them tell us that the word that they would associate with their clutter and how it makes them feel is ‘overwhelmed’.

Sound familiar?

Physical clutter has all kinds of negative affects on us and our homes, including:

  • Lack of space
  • Lack of light
  • Lack of fresh air
  • It feels like a weight on our shoulders
  • It looks messy
  • It can be a trip hazard
  • It can be a health hazard because of the dirt and dust
  • It makes us feel depressed and ashamed
  • It makes us waste time trying to find things
  • It causes us to be frustrated
  • It takes up a lot of energy in a room
  • We don’t let anyone come into our homes or rooms
  • It makes us feel stuck and unable to move on

Ever felt like your clutter is growing before your very eyes?

Well it probably is.

Physical clutter is predominately visual which is why some people ‘see it’ and other people don’t.

Storage places can be everywhere and include other people’s rooms, place etc. This can cause family friction.

Often when items are needed they can’t be found.

It’s because of the ‘need phase’ of the cycle that people are reluctant to let go – they have had things in the ‘storage phase’ of the cycle so long that there’s a belief that they must have kept them for a reason.

The lack of a de-cluttering phase means that the storage space available is forever decreasing and starts to overflow into the rest of the home.

So can clearing your Physical clutter really make a difference to how we feel about our homes and ourselves?

Absolutely.

Our clients tell us just what a difference clearing their clutter has made, including:
  • Huge relief
  • Feeling relaxed
  • Feeling as though a weight has been lifted
  • Pride in their home
  • Saving time just knowing where things are
  • Inviting people round
  • More time for more important things
  • Feeling in control
  • Able to move on with other things in their life
  • Positive about life and the future
  • More energy in a room
  • Light and bright rooms
