Linda and the Husband Factor

She’d been a top tip subscriber for over a year.....

.......and had, on repeated occasions, asked her husband to let her get Clare in to help her in her home – she couldn’t afford it without his financial help.

She didn’t want to just book help regardless, only for him to turn up and find Clare there and hit the roof.

However, as with many men, he didn’t understand why she couldn’t get to grips with the clutter.

‘Just get skip’ he’d often told her.

Linda knew it wasn’t that simple.

So Linda called Clare to ask whether the Success Club really worked. Not having been aware of the concept of telephone support, Linda couldn’t understand how Clare could help her without coming to her home. Surely she needed Clare to be in her home, stand by her side and talk her through what to do?

Clare explained to Linda that yes, she could help her without coming to her home – as long as Linda was willing to try something new, trust that Clare would guide her safely through the process, give her relevant advice when it was needed, and give Linda access to resources and videos on the website that she could access not only when her husband was not at home, but also whenever Linda was doing a Clutter Clearing Session in-between each fortnightly Assisted Clutter Clearing Session.

So Linda decided that, given help in the home simply wasn’t an option for her, she’d give the 12 Week Success Club a go. She sign up to become a member and booked her first Assisted Clutter Clearing Session and eagerly awaited the first call before the day.

Clare and Linda talked through the issues in the first call to get a better understanding of Linda’s challenges, after which Clare put together Linda’s exclusive on-line resources and motivational audio – also accessible via the website. Linda’s task was to download and work through the eBooks which had the step by step process outlined in it and which would tell her what to do and when.

I never imagined that I’d be able to do what my super organised friend does BETTER than she does it!

When she helped me she ‘told’ me decide whether to keep, throw or give to charity each and every item and, as you said last week, being ‘ruthless’ always leads to regret.

Now I have 7 categories to sort into which I chose myself, I really do feel in control.

Linda is now on her second Assisted Clutter Clearing Session in the first month of her Success Club membership, and is focusing on the attic clutter.

Even my husband is noticing the difference, and I have to laugh when he says ‘I told you you could do it without paying someone else to do it for you’.

Little does he know that even if you had come to our home you wouldn’t have done it for me anyway – but how funny that he thinks it’s all me!

I’m afraid Clare, I’m going to take all the credit.
