Secrets of Success – Focus

Secrets of Success – Focus

If you want to succeed on your Clutter Clearing Journey then you’re going to need to learn to focus, concentrate and finish things.

This doesn’t come naturally to those of us who struggle with clutter because we are naturally in-time, which means we’re impulsive and driven by our emotions in the moment. Here is what you need to focus and concentrate on while you’re on your Journey, depending on which step you are on.

On Step 1, most people find it hard to get into a routine of being a Successful Snail, simply watching and following their Journey videos for 30 minutes a day, 3 times a week. Some people find it easier to focus on doing 30 minutes a day, 5 days a week. Whatever you do, getting into a routine is essential and will set you up for success.

When you start doing your digital and paperwork Clutter Clearing Sessions on Step 2, expect to make mistakes. The perfectionist inside you won’t like it, but the best way to learn is by making mistakes. Focus on learning from the mistakes so you can start to make progress quicker and easier.

As you continue clearing your clutter, focus on testing the tools you gather on Step 3 to use when you do your Not Sure Check-ins. That way, when you start climbing Step 4: Mount Everest, you’ll be more familiar with how to use them, and you’ll be able to use them quickly and easily when you need them.

As you start making decisions about the things in your big and bulky backlog clutter on Step 4: Mount Everest, you’re going to need to know how you want your Clutter Free Best Life to be, so you know whether the piece of clutter you’re making a decision on helps you achieve that Clutter Free Best Life or not. Focus on reading your Best Life Script at the start of every Clutter Clearing Session that you do to keep your mind focused.

Once you pass the peak of Step 4: Mount Everest, make sure you do your Daily Visual Check-ins EVERY DAY. It’s essential if you want to stay Clutter Free Forever. Even if you have days or weeks when you can’t or don’t work on your Journey, you still need to do your Daily Visual Check-ins.

Focus on capturing the strongly positive memories without having to keep the physical thing. It’s the strongly positive memories you want to trigger in your Clutter Free Best Life. You don’t need the physical thing to be able to trigger those strongly positive memories.

As you near the end of your Clutter Clearing Journey, despite how long it may have taken you, there’s one simple fact you can’t ignore. You’ve successfully cleared your clutter, and your glass is definitely over half full.

However, alongside the feelings of joy and pride, many people start to focus on the part of the glass that is still a little empty. They start to experience feelings of guilt, regret, remorse, embarrassment, stupidity for not having done this sooner. This is when doing your Success / Gratitude Journal daily is essential to help you notice and focus on how full your glass is.
