Clutter Clearing Essentials
Clutter Clearing Essentials
YOU NEED TO DO LESS IF YOU WANT TO MAKE MORE PROGRESS ON YOU JOURNEY
If you are struggling to get into a routine, build momentum, make progress on your Journey, or you feel ‘stuck’, then that’s probably because you are doing things that are sabotaging your Journey.
We are defining progress as moving towards your Clutter Free goal, which requires 7 things:
1. A Clear Goal
If you don’t know WHY you want to clear your clutter, how your Best Life is better than the life you have now, there’s no reason to protect the time you need to make consistent progress towards that goal. Create and update your Best Life script by reading it at the start of every Clutter Clearing Session you do.
2. Realistic, SMARTER Goal
Define what progress you want each term by setting a realistic, SMARTER Goal at the start of each term, based on the evidence of the previous term. Then break that down into smaller, bite-size weekly goals.
3. Weekly Planner
Many people resist and ignore the weekly planner, yet by doing it each week, you’re helping yourself to get into a routine, and are more likely to achieve your SMARTER goal and your Best Life.
4. Just ‘Do the Doing’
Stop procrastinating and just ‘Do the Doing’ by following your weekly planner – it really is that simple!
5. Routine
By following your weekly planner and ‘doing the doing’, watching and following your Journey videos in full, doing the exercises and actions I guide you to do, you’ll make steady, consistent progress on your Journey.
6. Track your Progress
How will you know if you’re making progress unless you track it? The facts and the evidence don’t lie. Follow the Journey videos, cross off each day you complete in your notebook, put a sticker on your Clutter Clearing calendar for every day you ‘do the doing’, and capture it in your Success / Gratitude Journal so you have the evidence of your progress.
7. Make Realistic Decisions
You’re going to have to manage your perfectionism so that you can make realistic decisions based on how they support your Best Life. You will have to let go of things in your clutter to see your progress.
If you do all of the above and you’re still not making progress on your Journey, or you’re still stuck, then it’s time to accept you need help to find out what’s behind the resistance. Talk to a therapist / counsellor to find out what fear is behind it.
You can clear your clutter fast, or you can clear your clutter forever, but you can’t clear your clutter forever, fast.
