Secrets of Success – 13 Signs you are Impatient

13 SIGNS YOU ARE IMPATIENT

  1. You procrastinate at simply ‘doing the doing’ whilst also feeling stressed and anxious about the time it’s taking you to complete each Clutter Clearing Day / Week / Step / Journey 
  1. Because you procrastinate, it takes you longer to get back into your Journey videos when you re-start ‘doing the doing’ and maybe even find you have to re-watch previous videos to remind yourself of what you were doing when you stopped watching them
  1. You don’t focus on your Journey videos. Instead, you try to multi-task e.g. checking your phone, checking e-mails, having the TV or radio on in the background, texting, talking to people, doing household chores etc. You don’t sit still, focus, listen to what’s being said. You skip the exercises
  1. You alternate between being a rigid rock for more than 2 consecutive weeks at a time, then blitz your Journey by being a steady turtle, powerful elephant or doing more than the maximum
  1. You focus on the half of the glass that’s empty. You say things like ‘I’m not making ENOUGH progress fast enough’, ‘this is going to take forever’, ‘I want to start clearing the physical clutter’ 
  1. You constantly doubt your ability to complete the Journey
  1. You only focus on the end goal – completing your Journey, rather than breaking it down into smaller, more manageable bitesize goals, or track significant successes and weekly progress 
  1. You often consider giving up, especially when you don’t see what you consider to be acceptable progress in what you consider to be a reasonable amount of time
  1. Although you know at a logical level that your clutter didn’t appear overnight so it’s unrealistic to think you can clear it overnight, you still feel overwhelmed by the amount of time it’s going to take to clear on the Journey (made worse when you’re struggling to be a Successful Snail)
  1. Even though what you are learning is interesting and you are learning a lot about you, your home and your clutter, you are frustrated that you are not working on your physical clutter more
  1. You skip videos and check-ins because you decide you’ve done them ‘enough’, or you think skipping them will speed up your Journey. You ignore your Room Order list on Steps 4 – 7
  1. You don’t take at least 1 week to rest and recharge every 5 – 6 weeks, thinking that it will enable you to complete your Journey fast (Spoiler Alert: it won’t. You’ll burn out before you complete it)
  1. You focus on the SIZE of your success not the significance. You ignore capturing things in your Success / Gratitude Journal, or struggle to recognise successes and gratitude’s because you only consider completely clutter free areas and rooms as a success worthy of acknowledging.

You can clear your clutter FAST, or you can clear your clutter FOREVER, but you can’t clear your clutter FOREVER FAST.
